Have you ever seen the buildings around you as material treasures? It is said that taking a walk is the best remedy to come back to a problem and think outside of the box. Quite literally, we will take you on a walk past different buildings on the Noord-Zuid-axis, and rediscover the potential of these hidden treasures.
During this workshop you will learn to build an oven out of earth bricks, while personalising them with your names. From dust to brick, from brick to masonry, from masonry to an oven.
This workshop with Alejandro Haiek is intended for PhD students. It will seek new forms of correlation between social landscapes, ecosystem services, and post-industrial geographies, engaging with the agents as artisctic translations.

The daily path of the pastor, where he walked and prayed, becomes the path of the people of Helchteren. We will decorate stones together, all are welcome. With these stones we will then retrace the path into the grounds of the garden. Tracing a memory of the past in order to create a work of land art for the future.
