Under Construction is an open festival at De Pastorie where everyone is invited to build together.
Across three weekends, we explore how shared spaces are shaped not only by materials, but by relationships and collective care.
Through workshops, conversations, and everyday activities, the Pastorie becomes a place built with and for the community.
Because the site is still under construction, the festival extends into the neighbourhood, activating gardens, streets, and shared spaces around it.
At De Pastorie, the building process is still ongoing.
The festival opens this work to the neighbourhood.
Over the weekend, the garage roof will be dismantled and retiled, and terrazzo tiles prepared for the interior. Dries Truyers offers a glimpse into his work with natural materials and craftsmanship.
Alongside this, we experiment with eco printing using natural pigments.
A mobile installation moving through the streets that becomes a travelling exhibition about the history of De Pastorie and its memories. It invites conversations, small activities, and spontaneous encounters with neighbours. Through this, new relationships with the neighbourhood begin to form.
As the neighbourhood goes through the transformation of the Noord-Zuid Porject we take a collective walk through the neighbourhood. We explore public spaces and learn about the history and the stories of the surrounding and its role.
A community that builds together also spends time together.
While we work on shaping De Pastorie, there are also moments to gather, eat, and pause. Shared meals, morning sessions, and in the evening, sound and music to close the day.
The opening night begins with a listening session by DIN45680, followed by a DJ set by Irini Vinili b2b Potteau b2b Au Tomat.
Come by for the evening, stay a while.
